Station 3 Dedication
On May 23rd, 2012 Fire Station #3 was dedicated to and renamed the Charles W. Conover Fire Station #3, in honor of Chuck's dedication to the citizens and Fire Department as Center Township Trustee. The brick signage on 250 West in front of the station reflects this dedication.
This is the newest of Valparaiso's 3 firehouses, and was opened for service in 2007 to better serve the citizens and visitors of Center Township.
Staffing at Station 3
Engine 3 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by full-time Valparaiso Firefighters. Many of our Firefighters are also medically trained as either EMT's or Paramedics. Engine 3 is Advanced Life Support equipped, and always has at least one Paramedic on the engine to initiate advanced life saving care until the ambulance arrives. When one of the Valparaiso Fire Department rescues (ambulances) arrives, they will be fully able to continue the care that was started, and transport the patient to an area hospital.
