Fire Station Two was constructed in 1994 to meet the growing demands of the City, and thus, the additional staffing, and to better serve the population on the North side of town. It is still the largest of the 3 firehouses located in Valparaiso and Center Township.
Staffing at Station 2
The Battalion Chief, Engine 2, Rescue 2, and Rescue 22 are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by full-time Valparaiso Firefighters. Many of our Firefighters are also medically trained as either EMT's or Paramedics. Engine 2 and the Battalion Chief chase vehicle are Basic Life Support equipped. Rescue 2 and Rescue 22 are Advanced Life Support equipped and does 911 transports to area hospitals.
The Administrative side of firehouse #2 staffs 1 Fire Chief, 1 Assistant Chief of Line Operations, 1 Assistant Chief of EMS, 1 Administrative Secretary, and 1 Assistant for Ambulance Billing during normal business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm CT.
